About Dr. Fried
Philip Fried, MD, is the medical director at West Derm Center, which he originally founded in 1991. Under Dr. Fried’s expert guidance, the practice has grown to six New York locations, one each in White Plains, New Rochelle, and Yonkers, and their Bronx offices in Pelham Gardens and Riverdale. At each location, Dr. Fried ensures that patients have access to a wide range of dermatological and aesthetic services.
Dr. Fried began his education at Touro College in Manhattan, where he graduated magna cum laude. He went on to earn his medical degree at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
Dr. Fried completed a general surgery internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark and served as a dermatology resident at New York Medical College in Valhalla. Rounding out his medical training, Dr. Fried served as an attending physician in the emergency rooms of Jamaica Hospital and Bellevue Hospital in New York.
With this comprehensive medical training under his belt and a board certification in dermatology, Dr. Fried went into private practice. He focuses on cosmetic and laser surgery, varicose vein treatment, autologous fat transplantation, and mesotherapy, which involves vitamin injections to dissolve subcutaneous fat.
Over his career, Dr. Fried has conducted a number of studies on dermatological diseases and was involved in special investigative research on leprosy, wounds, and burn healing. Dr. Fried’s work is published in The Journal of Infectious Diseases and Annals of Internal Medicine, and he’s spoken extensively at both national and international conferences.
