Dr. Phillip Fried
Medical Director Dr. Fried is the Medical Director at West Derm Center with over 25 years of dermatological and cosmetic experience. Dr. Fried graduated magna cum laude from Manhattan’s Touro College before earning his Medical Degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, New York.
He completed his general surgery internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and served a dermatology residency at New York Medical College in Valhalla. He worked as attending physician in the Emergency Room of both Jamaica Hospital and Bellevue Hospital in New York. He speaks English, Spanish & Hebrew.
Dr. Fried founded Westchester Dermatology Center the center for Cosmetic and General Dermatology in 1991 with offices Located in White Plains, Larchmont and the Bronx. He is board certified in dermatology and has special interest and expertise in cosmetic and laser surgery, varicose vein treatment and autologous fat transplantation and meso therapy (vitamin injection to dissolve subcutaneous fat).
A dedicated researcher in his field, Dr. Fried has conducted numerous studies on dermatological diseases and has done special investigative research on leprosy, wounds & burn healing. His work has been published in the Journal of Infectious Diseases and Annals of Internal Medicine. He has spoken at national and international meetings.
Dr. Jay S. Lerman
Dr. Jay S. Lerman joins West Derm Center with over 30 years of dermatological experience. Dr. Lerman graduated from Brooklyn College before earning his Medical Degree from the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine in 1969. He completed his Internal Medicine internship at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and served as a Dermatology resident at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.
Dr. Murray Zung
Dr. Murray Zung graduated from the New York University School of Medicine in 1962. He practices out of our New Rochelle office.
Dr. Zung holds a board certification from the American Board of Dermatology and is affiliated with Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and NYU Langone Medical Center. He speaks English and Spanish.

Dr. Karen Mackler
Karen Mackler, M.D. is double board certified in Dermatology and Pediatrics.
Dr. Mackler is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology at The Albert Einstein Medical School, board certified by the American Academy of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.
She earned her undergraduate degree at Wellesley College. She then attended New York University School of Medicine where she obtained her medical degree.
Dr, Mackler is affiliated with Montefiore Medical Center and Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and is an assistant clinical professor at Einstein Medical School.
Dr. Mackler was recently featured in Westchester Magazine and has remained in Westchester magazine’s top doctors in Westchester for many years.
Dr. Mackler sees both Adults and Children and is dedicated to each of her patient’s care. Dr. Mackler and our friendly staff looking forward to seeing you as a patient!
Dr. Shira Wieder
The newest member of our clinical team, Dr. Wieder has sterling credentials and cutting- edge research achievements that mark her as a rising star in the field of dermatology. Before graduating from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2015, Dr. Wieder completed four years of medical training there, plus a year at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York studying how to spot early biomarkers of melanoma. Dr. Wieder then served a one-year internship in internal medicine at Northshore University Hospital & Long Island Jewish Medical Center (NS/LIJ) followed by a three-year dermatology residency at Mount Sinai, where, in her final year, she served as Chief Resident. Dr. Wieder’s research has been published in a number of prestigious journals, including the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the Journal of Investigative Dermatology. The recipient of multiple research grants, Dr. Wieder has been a speaker at the International Society of Dermatopathology conference, and the Winter Clinical Dermatology conference in Hawaii. Working out of our office at 3333 Henry Hudson Parkway, Dr. Wieder takes compassionate care of adults and children. Along with a continued focus on diagnosing and treating early melanoma, her wide-ranging clinical interests include, among others, acne, atopic dermatitis, rosacea and psoriasis. Dr. Wieder is excited to be joining the West Derm family!
Juliana Williams PA-C
Juliana Williams is a NCCPA board certified Physician Associate treating patients from throughout New York City at West Derm Center. She provides a variety of medical and cosmetic services including skin tag removal, psoriasis treatments, skin cancer screening, mole removal, Botox®, fillers, and other cosmetic procedures. She is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.
Ms. Williams is senior Dermatology Physician Associate. She has 10 years of experience as a sub-investigator on Phase 1 through Phase 4 clinical trials, with device studies, inpatient and outpatient studies, and First-in-Man studies. Areas studied include Healthy PK/PD, Alzheimer’s Disease, Diabetes, Schizophrenia, Insomnia, Cold Sore and Antioxidants. Ms. Williams has also been reponsible for overseing laboratory and pharmacy operations and product distribution for subjects associated with the clinical trials.
Ms. Williams holds active memberships with the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, the American Society of Family Physicians, and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Esther Elbogen PA-C
Esther Elbogen, a magna cum laude graduate of the Touro College School of Health Sciences, is a NCCPA board certified Physician Associate providing an array of medical and cosmetic services including laser treatment for vitiligo and psoriasis, mole removal, Dysport®, fillers, and other procedures.
Ms. Elbogen is fluent Hebrew, Yiddish, Russian. She hasyears of experience as a Sub-Investigator on clinical trials of various phases for outpatient studies in the areas of acne vulgaris, atopic dermatitis, rosacea, seborrheic keratosis, performing physicals, obtaining medical history and reviewing concomitant medications, evaluation of the treated condition and clinical assessments. She has completed CITI Good Clinical Practice Course for Investigators, Health Information Privacy and Security (HIPS) for Clinical Investigators, and Clinical Investigators Biomedical, Basic Course.
Ms. Elbogen is also an Alum of the Passion to Heal Medical Mission Program.
